It all started with Leighton's top four front teeth that came in (all at once) a few weeks ago. With the new teeth came the typical runny nose. No big deal. Then the runny nose turned into a nasty cold we fought for a week or so. Thankfully, this is the first time Leighton has been really sick. The doctor told us there wasn't much we could do other than fight it. Frustrating, but still no big deal, just a few sleepless nights listening to our poor girl cough every other minute throughout the night. What this new mom didn't know was that a nasty cold has a tendency to result in a really not-so-fun ear infection. Along with that came a fever, irritability, lots of crying, food aversions, and pretty much an all-around pathetic little lovebug.
After our second trip the doctor's office to discover the ear infection and a few doses of antibiotics (thank God for amoxicillin), things finally started to turn around...
Our big girl is still fighting this lingering cold and cough, but she doesn't let it bring her down. Off to the park with Daddy (left) and with friends (right) to enjoy this beautiful cooler weather!
