Christmas 2011

Since the Johnsons and the Stairs were not able to join us in Charleston for Christmas, this was our first Christmas just us, with no family in town and no traveling. Taylor, Leighton and I decided to begin our own new Christmas traditions here just the three of us.

On Christmas Eve, we headed to the late evening church service at MPPC. This was L's first church visit and she slept soundly in her carrier through the entire beautiful service. We're so blessed and thankful for our sweet angel.

After a lovely salmon dinner and a night with little to no sleep between L's 2 am and 5 am feedings (and subsequent cry sessions), sure enough, Santa had arrived! We opened gifts, then off to Isle of Palms for Leighton's first trip to the beach. What a great way to spend Christmas day... at the beach!

Then family came to join us for the week between Christmas and New Years. Thank God for family in town so this exhausted mama and daddy could catch up on some much needed sleep! Leighton also spent most of her time sleeping through the holiday celebrations (well, when she wasn't crying)...

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight.
