Leighton's umbilical cord finally fell out so now its time for real bath! Up until now, we had to do sponge baths under the sink, which basically involved rinsing her body with a wet sponge trying not to get her umbilical cord stump wet. It fell off yesterday (after two and a half weeks!) and here we are at 19 days old taking our first bath.
Thanks Aunt Dory and Uncle Morgan
for my snuggly frog bath towel
Bath time is still not L's favorite. She's hates being naked and doesn't really like the feel of the water just yet. She also has a habit of going to the bathroom (both no. 1 and no. 2) each time we've tried to bathe her. Gran Jan ended up with a handful of poop during (and after) her first sponge bath which left the both of us laughing so hard that we could barely contain ourselves. Then Aunt Hannah got to experience this again after her first real bath. Oh well, it makes for a good laugh for all, especially those who don't get the poop all over us! Hopefully that will get better when she learns not to get so worked up for bath time!
