We started out the weekend by heading to the beach on Friday morning with our good friends, Leslie and Madelyn (14 months). Leighton loves playdates with Madelyn, watching her every move and learning as much as she can from her older friend. They even make time for some serious girl talk.

Dad had to work on Saturday so Leighton and I spent the day running errands (and trying to stay warm on the 105 degree day). L had her first shopping cart ride (not in her car seat) at Whole Foods and loved it so much that she squealed the entire way through the store. Literally.

Then we met Daddy and Grandaddy (in town for work) downtown for a shrimp boil and live music by Patrick Norris at the Yacht Club. The weather finally cooled off a bit for us to enjoy some good food and entertainment out on the water. Patrick's music was awesome - and he even played all of our song requests!
Quick catnap so we could stay past bedtime for more music and dancing!
