This is probably the last year we will get to choose Leighton's costume for her (it was a close battle even this year at the last minute). But once she put it on, she ate up every second of all the attention she got!
Little Sqiggly Piggy
So proud of her first piece of candy
Two hours later, the ride home. Finally time for the lollipop.
Happy Halloween!!
Who wouldn't want to take one million pictures of this little pig? Don't worry. We did. First go-round in costume was at our neighborhood Grassy Creek Halloween Parade.
Checking out the scene before donning her full costume for the parade
First lollipop. This did the trick.
Mount Pleasant Firefighters handed out costume awards and
guess which little girl won the award for best animal costume?
This girl! Post tears picture (she won, everyone yelled and clapped, she got scared, tears ensued),
then happy girl again
Leighton loved prancing around in her costume. We were old pros by the time Halloween night came around. We met up with our neighbors, the Barbers, for a (slow) stroll around the neighborhood and a little trick or treating.
Leighton and her mermaid friends, Marshall and Wells
After a little hesitation (and watching her friends) she was off to her first house!
Leighton could have been finished for the night having scored a lollipop. We had a hard time understanding the concept that we keep moving from house to house to get more candy after that first piece, but after a few mini-meltdowns, we finally got the hang of it.
Happy Halloween!!
