Labor Day Visit from Grammy and Papa Jim

We originally planned on a trip to Cincinnati for Labor Day weekend, but flights there were complicated by holiday weekend cost and the fact that we waited until 2 weeks before to actually book them. So my parents packed up and headed our way for the long weekend instead. Even better! Papa Jim hasn't been able to meet Harrison yet, but thankfully, his health has improved enough for him to make the trip down here with Grammy. We were super excited to see him and, of course, even more thrilled to have Grammy's company and help for a whole three days. Bliss.

First things first, Leighton took a special trip with Grammy to the princess store. She came home with an new Ariel princess dress and tiara, some jewelry, and an Elsa doll. She was so proud of her Ariel dress wore it (literally) all weekend. Thank you, Grammy!

Then we all enjoyed some much-needed R&R at the beach house. Gigi and PopPop were out of town but so kind to let us come play at the pool. I think we may have convinced Grammy and Papa Jim to move to SC with this relaxing morning in the sun...

Saturday night, we took L to our the Barbers' beach house for the Clemson/UGA game. They are big time Clemson fans and Leighton wanted to be dressed up for the game like her friends, Marshall and Wells. The first and only time Leighton will be clad in orange and purple :) Grammy stayed home with the boys so we could enjoy a baby-free evening with Leighton and friends!

So thankful for a visit from my parents. I know it's not an easy trip to make and it means the world to me to have them here, even if only for a few days. I wish the weekend wouldn't have flown by so fast.  Counting down the minutes until their next visit!
