All packed up and off to TN for the Thanksgiving weekend! The first hour of the trip was blissful.
The next three or four hours... torture. Leighton had a really rough trip and cried pretty much the entire remainder of the drive to Kingsport. Poor girl just wanted to get out of her carseat and move around. That's the tough part about traveling with a toddler these days. It was exhausting, but we made it (side note: we came to find out she was battling an ear infection and RSV which caused the irritability for the weekend and following week). L cheered up quickly as soon as we got in when she got to spend some time with Nannie.
As usual, on Thanksgiving Day, we gathered together for dinner at the Huffs. No one cooks a better Thanksgiving meal than Aunt Kathy does. Taylor and I look forward to it literally all year, it's SO good.
Trying my first bites of turkey, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, and mashed potatoes, and
of course, Aunt Kathy's homemade rolls were my favorite!
It was a wonderful holiday weekend, even if L wasn't feeling well. We have so much to be thankful for this year, most especially our families and our happy, healthy little girl.
