Twelve months old already! Wow, I can't believe it. Our baby girl is a now a little toddler.
12 months
Here are the stats from our 12-month well visit:
Weight: 22 lbs 4 ounces (76th percentile)
Length: 30 inches (62nd percentile)
All good reports from the doctor. Leighton is growing like a weed. She's not walking yet, but that's coming very soon we think. She stands ALL the time, and walks around holding on to furniture, but hasn't learned to take steps on her own yet. The doctor discussed and evaluated all of the age-appropriate motor skills and said her development appears to be more like a 15 month old than a 12 month old at this point, so she's on the right track!
And here's a little bit about me at 12 months:
My favorite words: "da-da," "ma-ma," "baaaa," "wooowww", "d-yeah" (which mom and dad think means "yes."
My teeth: seven. four on the top, three on the bottom. cutest little toofers ever.
My preferred mode of transportation: crawling. walking only if holding on to something/someone.
My favorite activities/tricks: waving hi and bye-bye, pushing walker around the house, dancing (whenever I hear music!), putting blocks in the box/take out/repeat, imitating all sounds, shaking head no, "oh-my" with hands on my head, reading books, feeding my big sister baxley food I don't want from the high chair when mom and dad aren't paying attention (and even when they are); giving kisses (with mouth wide open); patting my belly and touching my toes (simon-says style); brushing my hair and teeth; high fiving; and smiling and giggling.
Now, for the year in review. No points for creativity on this one...
Monthly number stickers.
On a white onesie or shirt.
In the same chair.
Next to the same pillow.
Watch her grow.
Watch her grow.
I remember each and every time we slapped that sticker on the onesie and sat her in the chair and told her not to move and dangled toys to make her smile. I remember each one like it was yesterday.
Just like that. 12 months old.
