Dad told us when he left this morning that he didn't have much going on at the office today and didn't plan to be there late. Since we knew he wasn't super busy (and because it was a sunny 70 degree Friday in February!), L and I decided to head downtown and surprise Dad with a visit from his girls. We got ready, made sandwiches and packed up all the essentials for a picnic (don't mind that it took us almost 3 hours to get out the door for this adventure). It was a perfect day for a picnic at the park.
We went back to Dad's office after lunch to see the girls in his office who were dying to see and hold Leighton. She was a little sleepy, and she was very quiet as everyone took turns holding her. They didn't want to let her go so I told them they were welcome to come over anytime to hold her and let me have a break :)
It was a great afternoon. We enjoyed getting out, especially with such gorgeous "winter" weather, and Dad was surprised. We love making him smile.
