Aunt Colette and her super awesome boyfriend, Dan, stopped in for a visit on their way back from FL. They got in on Wednesday and stayed two nights with us. We had a blast! It's so fun to see Wake friends we don't get to see often, especially since we don't have any upcoming weddings or events this year to get us all together as we have the past few years. On Wednesday night, we went to Poe's for burgers and beers. Leighton came along and was an angel the entire time while we all caught up. Of course, she was still the center of attention.
Leighton and I were so excited to have friends in town on Thursday to play! After a lazy morning at home, we went downtown to meet Taylor at the office and go to lunch. He was only able to take a quick break and then had to head back to work. Hey, someone has to make money for us to eat! After a delicious lunch at Poogan's Porch (mmm, cheese biscuits), we walked up King Street and did some window shopping, went for a quick sight-seeing tour around The Battery, then stopped at Vendue Rooftop for some afternoon cocktails, while L snoozed through her afternoon nap passed out in Aunt Colette's arms. We topped off the busy day by grilling a yummy steak dinner (well, Colette and Dan did all the work) and polishing off a few bottles of wine, then off to bed since they had to head back to NY at 5 am this morning. L loved meeting Aunt Colette and we hope they come back and visit again soon!
