Three Months Old

Our little angel is three months old and she's such a happy girl!

Well, you were a tough little girl for the first few months, that's an understatement, but three months old brings all new things for you (and your Mommy and Daddy). Your difficult colicky phase has passed and you are like an entirely new (and very happy) baby. You're discovering new things each day with never-ending smiles, and we love every minute watching you grow. Here's a look back.

And here's a look at what you're up to as of this week:

Schedule/Sleeping: You've mastered the "feed, wake, sleep" cycle, which is now like clockwork. You take two solid hour and a half naps (sometimes even longer) and one short nap, and you're consistently sleeping 11 hours at night, waking around 7:00 am almost every morning (at least for the last month or so). After bath and story time at night, we can put you in bed at 8:00 pm awake and you will put yourself to sleep. Even the doctor was impressed with this schedule for your age! I know it is all likely to change, especially when you start teething, but for now, it's so wonderful to have a predictable schedule and you are much happier with routine.

Feeding: You just recently dropped a feeding and went from 6 to 5 feedings a day (7:00 am, 10:30 am, 2:00 pm, 5:00 pm and 7:30 pm), which was a pretty big change, but you did so well. We'll see how long that lasts. Unfortunately, your reflux doesn't appear to be getting any better, even with the medications, but it doesn't seem to bother you at all. In fact, you often smile as you spit up. So for now, its really only a laundry issue and we just continue to change out bib/outfits all day. It's ok, your Mommy really likes clothes and you have a lot so I guess its a good thing we get to change outfits so frequently. :)

Development: You have the most beautiful smile and love to show it to everyone you see! You can completely support your neck/head, which makes carrying you so much easier. You can sit upright with support on a couch or chair and you just recently discovered sitting up in your bumbo chair. You've discovered so many new things with your hands, including how to get them in your mouth (which you love). You can grab toys, shake a rattle, swat at toys on your playmat, and you just discovered you could grab my hair when I hold you - that's fun! Your attention span is longer and you can play with a toy by yourself for about 30-45 minutes on your own - Miss Independent - and thats a good thing too. You also decided that you not only tolerate car rides, but you actually enjoy car rides and playing with your toys in the back seat, which makes life SO much easier. Oh and your voice... your babbling is beginning.  You've started randomly squealing, whimpering, gurgling and making other fun noises, especially in the mornings and evenings. We watch you grow and notice something new on daily basis and it is SO much fun!
