This year is a big birthday year in the Stair family... my 30th in January, Jan's second 30th in March, and Taylor's 30th in April (in one week)... so Kent and Jan planned a weekend trip to Chicago to celebrate!
This was our first time leaving Leighton overnight and with a real babysitter, rather than a family member. We were a little nervous about the thought of leaving her at first, and we even contemplated bringing her along, but we decided it was good for us to get away and even better for LBug to learn how to be away from us for a couple days at an early age. Taylor's co-worker, Lauren, recommended her best friend, Sallie, as a babysitter, and she was wonderful. We couldn't have been more pleased. We received great reports that Leighton slept through the night, as usual, and was so good for Sallie the entire weekend. Sallie, of course, sent us lots of picture updates, which we loved. We were so proud of our sweet girl and so happy to have found a perfect babysitter.
I've always heard Chicago is such an amazing place and this was my first visit. What a beautiful city! We had chilly weather, which was unusual for late April, but the cold (and a little bit of rain) didn't stop our family from having fun. Here are just a few pics from our trip.
Weekend stay at the Embassy Suites
Saturday afternoon visit to Wrigley Field for the Reds @ Cubs!
The pea!
The architectural boat tour was perfect overview of the city
We had a blast and can't wait to take Leighton back for our next trip to Chicago!
